I have just completed my 12th boards. I was recently accepted into a university abroad. However, I have never been away from my family and I am still double-minded as to whether pursue a course here in India, or abroad. Are there any short-term architecture courses or workshops in India that I can try out before moving abroad?

Hello,

Vamsika

Congratulations on completing your 12th board and being accepted into a university abroad! It's natural to feel double-minded about pursuing your education overseas, especially if you haven't been away from your family before. If you're considering exploring architecture courses or workshops in India before making a decision, there are indeed several options available. Here are a few suggestions:

National Institute of Design (NID): NID is a premier design institute in India that offers various short-term courses and workshops in architecture and related fields. They have campuses in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru.

School of Planning and Architecture (SPA): SPA is an esteemed institute that focuses on architecture and planning. They offer short-term courses and workshops on specific topics related to architecture. The main campus is located in New Delhi.

CEPT University: CEPT University, based in Ahmedabad, offers a wide range of design and architecture courses. They may have short-term programs or workshops available that you can consider.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT): Some IITs offer short-term courses and workshops in architecture and related disciplines. You can explore the websites of IITs that have architecture departments, such as IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, or IIT Bombay, to see if they have any offerings suitable for your needs.

Private Architecture Institutes: There are several private architecture institutes across India that conduct short-term courses or workshops. Examples include the Academy of Architecture in Mumbai, Rizvi College of Architecture in Mumbai, and Sir JJ College of Architecture in Mumbai. Similar options can be found in other cities as well.

It's advisable to visit the websites or contact these institutions directly to get detailed information about their short-term courses, workshops, and admission procedures. By participating in such programs, you can gain exposure to the field of architecture and better understand your interests and aspirations before making a decision about studying abroad.
