Pearl Academy (formerly Pearl Academy of Fashion) is an Indian higher education institution. As of 2019, it is owned by the for-profit education group Global University Systems.
Pearl Academy of Fashion was founded in 1993 by the Little People Education Society House of Pearl Fashion. In 1995, Pearl began offering students degrees endorsed by the UK's Nottingham Trent University.
In July 2012, the University Grants Commission (India) ordered Pearl Academy to stop awarding joint degrees with Nottingham Trent University, citing "increasing complaints against private institutes".In 2015, concerns were raised about the validity of the programs provided by the institution after an alumna reported that the Association of Indian Universities “refused to recognize her degree from Pearl Academy.
The duration of the certificate course is of 11 months for both students and working professionals. These courses are Advertising & Graphic style, Fashion style, Fashion Media Make-up, skilled Photography, styling for Interiors & Decoration, and Celebrity & Bridal Hair & Make-up.
