Hi! Not necessarily! You just have to pass your 12th. NID doesn’t want a huge 12th score to take admission. They only see their NID DAT which is their entrance exam, its marks to take admission. You just need to pass your 12th. And in case of 12th certificate, it will be verify during admission there. 

What is NID? 

NID stands for National Institute of design, is nationally as well as internationally one of the finest educational and research institution which provide Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated Design courses both for under-graduates and post-graduates and doctoral levels.

WHAT IS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO GET INTO NID

Here are the eligibility criteria to get into NID

1. You must pass your 12th exam in any stream from any recognized board. 

2. Candidates who are appearing in their 12th exam can also apply for NID. 

3. Candidates have to qualify NID DAT with a good score to get into NID. And this is the main step. To get into NID, interested candidates need to crack NID DAT. NID conduct an entrance examination called NID DAT which is a design aptitude test every year to take admission in B. Des and M. Des courses at NID. Candidates, willing to pursue design courses, must apply for NID DAT to get admission at NID.

4. General and general EWS category candidates must be up to 20 years of age on or before June 30, 2003, OBC-Non Creamy Layer or ST or SC candidates get a relaxation of 3 years and PwD reserved category candidates get an exemption of 5 years. 

 

Documents you must require

  • Photograph (JPG/JPEG; not more than 100kb) 
  • Signature of candidates (JPG/JPEG; not more than 100kb)
  • Educational qualification details, communication details, etc
  • OBC-NCL certificate/ST certificate/SC certificate/EWS and disability certificate (it applied for general, general-EWS, OBC-NCL, ST/SC- PwD candidates) (JPG/JPEG; not more than 150kb) 
  • Copy of the first and last page of the passport only for overseas candidates (JPG; not more than 150kb) 

 

Application fees you have to pay

The cost of NID form is divided into two section. One is for General, EWS, OBC candidates, which is Rs 3,000/- and 2nd is for SC, ST, PwD candidates, which is Rs 1,500/-. But with late fee the general, EWS, OBC candidates have to pay Rs 6000/- and ST, SC, PwD candidates have to pay Rs 3000/-
