Different types of Courses Available in UCEED

UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) is an entrance examination for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses in Bombay, Guwahati, and Hyderabad.

The B.Des. program at IITs offers specialisations in various design domains. The different types of courses available in UCEED are:

Industrial Design: This specialisation deals with the design of consumer products, such as electronic gadgets, household appliances, furniture, etc.

Communication Design: This specialisation deals with the design of visual communication media, such as graphic design, animation, film, and video.

Animation Design: This specialisation deals with the design of 2D and 3D animations for various media, including films, video games, and advertising.

Mobility and Vehicle Design: This specialisation deals with the design of mobility solutions, such as cars, bikes, trains, and other vehicles.

Product Design: This specialisation deals with the design of physical products, such as packaging, toys, medical devices, etc.

Interdisciplinary Design: This specialisation is a combination of different design domains and includes aspects of different design fields to create a unique and interdisciplinary design solution.

Students can choose one or more of these specialisations based on their interests and aptitude. The curriculum of the B.Des. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in design principles, techniques, and tools, while also allowing them to explore and specialise in their chosen area of interest.
