The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, commonly known and doing business as UPES, is private in Dehradun, made up of the School of Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Design, the School of Law, the School of Business, the School of Health Sciences & Technology, the School of Modern Media and the School of Liberal Studies.
UPES was established in 2003 through the UPES Act 2003 by the state legislature of Uttarakhand. UPES entered into an academic collaboration with global university systems, a dutch educational network, initially by signing a memorandum of understanding and then as a full, member for education, training and research cooperation. Since its establishment in 2003, UPES has expanded into two campuses, Energy Acres and Knowledge Acres, in Bidholi and Kandoli in the Dehradun district The corporate office is based in New Delhi.

For UPES M.Des admission, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has published the DAT Phase 2 registration form online. Candidates must submit the UPES M.Des application form by June. Candidates must review the requirements for UPES M.Des admission before completing the application. The computer-based UPES DAT 2022 will be administered at several testing locations from July 3 to July 5.
At UPES, there are very good internship opportunities for their design students. The time period of the internship lasts from 5-7 days which is also called a summer internship. In this Summer Internship, UPES offers a small amount of money and a certificate for completing the internship in the last week of the internship. Not only it's for the Design students but it's also for other courses like interior designing, visual merchandising, animation, gaming, etc.
