The National Institute of Design (NID) does not publish an answer key or question booklet for the NID DAT tests. The answer keys will not be provided with the candidate, even if requested, according to the requirements in the Admission Handbooks. The reason for the non-release is that the question booklets are largely subjective in nature.

Criteria for shortlisting candidates
NID authorities will use the Prelims Merit list to shortlist applicants for the DAT Mains. In each category, applicants will be shortlisted at least three times. The National Institute of Design will create merit lists for the following categories: GENERAL, GENERAL-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and OVERSEAS. If two or more applicants receive the same score in the DAT Prelims, a tiebreak policy will be used to determine the merit rank.
