WHAT IS NID?

NID stands for National Institute of design, is nationally as well as internationally one of the finest educational and research institution which provide Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated Design courses both for under-graduates and post-graduates and doctoral levels. National Institute for design is the first design Institute in India established in the year 1961 at Ahmadabad. It was an autonomous all-India body. NID has been ranked as India’s No. 1 Design Institute. NID have total 7 campuses all over India, such as Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Gandhi Nagar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Assam.

This Ahmadabad campus of national Institute of design is the first campus of NID which was established in the year 1961. The university is located opposite to Tagore Hall, Rajnagar Society, Paldi, Ahmadabad, and Gujarat. A total of 17 courses are offered by the university at UG, PG and doctoral levels.

• Communication Design which includes 4 disciplines such as M. Des in film and video communication, M. Des in Graphics design, M. des in animation and film design.
• Industrial designing which includes 3 Disciplines such as M. Des in Ceramic and glass design, M. Des in furniture and interior design, M. Des in product design.
