University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES)

The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, commonly known and doing business as UPES, is private in Dehradun, made up of the School of Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Design, the School of Law, the School of Business, the School of Health Sciences & Technology, the School of Modern Media and the School of Liberal Studies.

UPES was established in 2003 through the UPES Act 2003 by the state legislature of Uttarakhand. UPES entered into an academic collaboration with global university systems, a dutch educational network, initially by signing a memorandum of understanding and then as a full member for education, training and research cooperation. Since its establishment in 2003, UPES has expanded into two campuses, Energy Acres and Knowledge Acres, in Bidholi and Kandoli in the Dehradun district The corporate office is based in New Delhi.

For UG and PG students, UPES offers internship opportunities. The university guarantees the student the internship he or she desires if the student enrols in any of the Undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes at UPES.

Duration of the Internship:

  • No more than two months
  • 4- to 6-months
  • Six months or longer

Process for Internships for Incoming Students

  • Decide on the subject of the study.
  • Send UPES an email at international @upes.ac.in with your research interests.
  • Interviewed by UPES professors virtually. Prepare a purpose statement, objectives, and plan.
  • Finish the research process on schedule.
  • Send a report to the relevant schools, including a copy to the professor and the institution.

Process for Outbound Students Seeking Internships

  • All qualified students received a Call for Internships on their UPES registered mail addresses.
  • To develop a strong research strategy, talk to your professor.
  • Completed applications should be sent to the Department of International Affairs.
  • The Host University will send acceptance letters to all eligible students.
  • Finish the research process on schedule.
  • Report delivery to the host university and your respective school
