Who will be awarded scholarships?
Everyone who has registered for admission to UPES courses and who has passed the UPES entrance exam is eligible to apply for this award. However, only students who meet the requirements for the first semester and any subsequent renewals, if any, of the scholarship will be given it.
Scholarship Requirements
Scholarships up to 10% will be given to top UPES Entrance Exam performers. Multiple entrance examination rounds may be held by UPES, and a separate merit list will be created for each round. In the event that the top performance declines the scholarship for any reason, the next in line among the top 10 will be considered for the award at the sole discretion of UPES.
Number of scholarships overall
Up to 1900 scholarships are available in total (out of these 50 percent will be reserved for girls i.e., 950 scholarships and balance is for general category including boys and girls both).
Scholarship Advantages
Scholarships will only be given for the first semester's tuition fees, ranging from 20% to 100%. Scholarship renewal for the remaining semesters is entirely up to UPES's discretion.
Renewal of a Scholarship Criteria
The continuation of the scholarship in the following semesters shall be in accordance with university policy, which may change annually. However, it will be contingent upon achieving the following minimal eligibility requirements:
8.5 SGPA/CGPA minimum required per semester.
Every semester was successfully completed without the need for any additional or improvement exams.
maintaining a 75% attendance rate over the entire semester
There was no disciplinary action taken or given to the student.
exemplary conduct and adherence to all other standards as from time to time set out by the university
The scholarship will not be extended if the student does not achieve a minimum 8.5 SGPA in any semester.
Scholarships will only be given in the form of tuition fee concessions, discounts, or waivers. UPES will have the exclusive authority to determine the percentage of the fee concession, discount, or waiver on tuition costs.
It is the applicants' obligation to confirm their eligibility before to submitting their applications. If the applicant is discovered to be ineligible at any point, his or her application and scholarship will be rejected.
The Scholarship Committee's decisions are final and cannot be contested.
All applicants who have been shortlisted will be informed of the outcome through email or SMS.
Any mentioned scholarship may be removed or modified by UPES at any time, without warning, and in its sole discretion.
The scholarship will be void if the student who received it decides to turn down the offered course.
The amount of the scholarship will be deducted from tuition. Scholarships cannot be transferred to another campus, academic year, semester, or course, nor can they be exchanged for cash or a check.
Scholarships cannot be transferred to another course, institution, academic year, or traded for cash.
If in any semester the applicant/student does not meet the renewal criteria, they will not be entitled to apply for any subsequent year/semester scholarship in this category.
In a given academic semester or year, a student or applicant will only be qualified to receive awards under one type or scheme of scholarship.
