Bachelor's Degree Programs:

Maximum Age: 23 years old.. The upper age restriction may be modified by 5 (five) years for applicants from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/PWD, subject to the following qualifications: Bachelor of Design - B.Des. (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)

Eligibility

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, both in New Delhi.

• General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB). or • Any Indian Public School/Board/University Examination

• Any public school/board/university examination in India or abroad recognized as equal to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities.

• A pass mark in the National Open School Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five courses.


• A three- or four-year diploma from AICTE or a state board of technical education. Eligibility for the Bachelor of Science in Technology B.FTech in Fashion Technology (Apparel Production)

• The +2 level test in any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary test, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• Advanced (A) level General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).

• Any public school/board/university examination in India or abroad approved by the Association of Indian Universities as equal to the 10+2 system in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• A pass grade in the National Open School Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five courses including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• A three- or four-year diploma in any engineering discipline approved by AICTE or a state board of technical education

Master's Degree Programs

- Age - There is no upper age limit. M.Des (Master of Design) Eligibility

• Undergraduate Degree in any field from any Institute / University recognized by law in India or 

• A three-year undergraduate diploma from NIFT/NID is required. Note: A Master of Design (M.Des.) is an advanced course that requires a grasp of design basics and assumes candidates are familiar with basic skills and theories in order to complete the program successfully. As part of its Master degree, the course would not give any fundamental information or skill development in design. Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.) Eligibility

• Undergraduate Degree in any field from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.

• An Undergraduate Diploma of at least three years' duration from NIFT / NID.

Fee Payment: Candidates who meet the admission standards outlined above may apply online with a US$100 application fee using the Online NIFT Payment channel. Candidates who are chosen in this category must pay the fee at the time of admission for the first academic year, which consists of two semesters.

They would also require a valid residency permit or student visa for the length of the program.

NRI CHILDREN AND WARDS Any unfilled NRI seat would lapse and will not be transferred to another category. However, the remaining seats would be allocated to NRI children/wards based on merit throughout the counselling process. Within the total capacity, NIFT may re-allocate seats among programs to fulfill applicant demand.

All applicants with a Common Merit Rank (CMR) and falling under the category "Children/Wards of NRI" would be offered the chance to choose an NRI seat during normal counselling, subject to meeting the criteria, submitting the appropriate papers, and paying the price.  

NRI Special Exam

If any NRI seats become available, they will be offered for admission again through a special NRI test. Candidates who were not shortlisted for the Situation Test/GD & PI, as well as fresh/new aspirants, would be eligible for admission if they met the requisite academic and documentation standards. The Special NRI Test/Interview will take place in New Delhi.

All applicants would be required to register. Candidates who are not shortlisted for the Situation Test, GD, and PI will just appear for the Interview. New applicants must take both the Written Entrance Examination and the Interview. Candidates who appeared just in the interview will be allocated first place on the merit list, and fresh candidates will be put after that. A final consolidated merit list would be declared based on these characteristics. Seats will be assigned solely on the basis of merit. Candidates chosen under the category of NRI Children/Wards must pay the NRI Candidate Fee.
