NID, or National Institute of Design, is one of the top public institutions in the country for design, primarily focused on imparting design knowledge to aspirants across eight significant fields with campuses in top cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bangalore. Both UG and master aspirants can put in their applications.

Let alone in the academic year 2020-2021, over 14,600+ students have competed for a total of 340 seats on all campuses. Though the number is comparatively huge with the total seats, do not get demotivated.

How can you get into NID?

Any aspirant (UG or master) should follow the three-step process to submit their application successfully.

1. Registration:
The only way to submit your application is through the institution's official website. To do it, you should register first by providing your email ID and creating a password. And login back into the site.

2. Admission Section:
Once you go to the site, click on the admission section and find a link that says admissions for (the academic year). Click on it, and it will drop you at your destination, the application.

3. Details:
The first step is to give your personal and educational details. Then in the second step, you should upload your documents as per the requirements. It may include your academic mark sheet, DOB, proof of address, and other documents. Save the details and pay the application fee as the third step.

Before your application submission, you should verify whether you will meet their minimum requirements or not. If you do not qualify for their minimum requirements, your application does not go for an evaluation.

Exam:

There is a myth all over the internet that says the NID exam is hard to crack. Of course, it is for those who do not prepare and practice their syllabus, and for those who train, it is easy to get a seat.

NID asks its applicants to appear for their official entrance exams that last for three hours. It is mandatory for both UG and Master's students.

How do they select you?

The admission board selects you based on your test performance. The three-hour test measures your creativity, observation, and ability to think creatively.

Besides, you can only secure admission if you crack the entrance exam.
