Through personal interview round, candidates are being asked about themselves, their hobby, desire to study design mainly from NID and etc. Tricky questions can be asked there too. Candidates must carry their art work portfolio with them through which interviewer will evaluate the candidate's experience as well as skills.

What is portfolio?

Portfolio is a collection of your best work or projects. Making a good portfolio is important because it reflects your skills and ability.

How to prepare a good portfolio?

1) Include your best work: you must include all the artwork or projects that highlights your skill-set and reflects a good end-product. Those art work or projects must reflect your interests, ideas, experience as well as abilities in that particular field. Also, your portfolio must include all those work that will differentiate you from others.

2) Quality over quantity: Portfolio presentation is not about how many work you have done, it is about how unique and creative work you have done. So, limit your portfolio to a maximum of 10-15 pages and one page should conclude only one project. This will bring clarity and bring attention to a particular project or art work. And those work must be your one of the best work or project.

3) Make it presentable: Label your portfolio adequately. Give an brief introduction to your portfolio. Do not limit your introduction to an one liner only. Add a brief introduction of your art works or projects. Write about what it is with the motives of doing it and all. Here’s the task is talk about your work.

4) Printed vs Web-Based Portfolio: Though technology is at its high peak where we cand make, send and receive through online digitally because it is more convenient. You must make a hard copy of your portfolio because it always gives a professional touch to your impression.

5) Models/Prototypes a plus: If you are good at making models, then definitely carry one. It will help you to make the panel understand your thought process behind making that particular product in the best possible way.
