WHAT IS GEMOLOGIST? 

Gemologist are people who keenly studies the physical and chemical bonds of a gemstones and check its authenticity. The increasing use of gems in the commercial markets has took the identification, evaluation and processing of gemstones to a most demanding line these days. This course will help the candidate to handle and process the gems also identify gems, grade and assort  to designing those gems.

Gemologist understand the science and chemistry behind gemstones and examine their underlying physical properties and bonds. They check the gemstones are real or fake and provide a Jewell or a goldsmith with an idea about how much pressure they should give on that gemstones so they will not be broken with their keen detail oriented, near vision and analytical skills.

Career options after gemology course 

Gemology now a days is one of the best option as a career. This course provide candidates to handle and processing of gemstones with the power of identifying, grading, assorting and designing them. 

After passing out the gemology course or jewellery design course one can unlock the option to become lab researcher, grader, appraiser, polisher, sales personnel, stone setter, gem asserter, diamond and gemstone buyer, jewellery designer, auction house or museum specialist, lapidary artist, jewellery blogger and photographer.

1. Gemologist- gemologist usually examine gemstones and check their authenticity. They also judge their correct value. 

2. Jewellery designer- they use gemstones and metals and craft beautiful jewellery with the help of their creative mind. 

3. Diamond grader- they basically identify the authentic diamond and examine their properties and grade it for commercial use. 

4. Gem asserter- they evaluate gemstones and segregate them in different groups or categories like polished or unpolished, cuts, clarity etc.

5. Researcher- they usually identify new types of gemstones and their properties to find out their value. They also research new equipment and ways so that gemstones can be easily identified or tested.
