WHAT IS NID MAINS EXAM?
NID DAT is an entrance exam that is conducted in offline mode to get admission into the prestigious NID. This exam is conducted in two modes, separately, for B.Des and M.Des. Stage one is for Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and stage two is for Design Aptitude Test Mains. The exam pattern consists of both subjective as well as objective questions.
EXAM PATTERN OF NID DAT-
One thing should be kept in mind only those candidates who cleared the NID DAT Prelims will be able to qualify for the next round, i.e. NID DAT Mains. If the candidate passes both exams then they are called up for admission.
Following are some rules and regulations of the NID DAT Examination-
- The NID DAT question paper consists of two sections with MCQs and Subjective questions respectively.
- The medium of the paper is strictly English.
- The duration of the examination of NID DAT for B. Des. It Is 180 minutes and for M. Des it is 150 minutes.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- The examination will be a total of 100 marks.
SYLLABUS FOR NID DAT MAINS-
Although NID has not given any particular syllabus for their entrance exam one should be focusing on the following topics which are given below-
- Model Making
- Audio- Visual Exercises
- Doodling
- Creative Thinking
- One should focus on portfolio making
- One should be well prepared for general questions that are asked in an interview.
- One should also keep in mind the past studio test and the interview questions asked there.
- Material manipulation is another thing a candidate should focus on.
- One should keep practicing and improving one’s impression with continuous mock interviews.
- There is also importance given to the body language of the person along with their career focus.
- Lastly, the candidate like the prelims should still be familiar with the basics of fashion and design.
