NID stands for National Institute of design, is nationally as well as internationally one of the finest educational and research institution which provide Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated Design courses both for under-graduates and post-graduates and doctoral levels.
National Institute for design is the first design Institute in India established by Indian government, Ford Foundation and the Sarabhai family in the year 1961 at Ahmedabad. It was an autonomous all-India body. NID has been ranked as India’s No. 1 Design Institute.

This Ahmedabad campus of national Institute of design is the first and the top campus among all the campuses of NID which was established in the year 1961. A total of 17 courses are offered by the university at UG, PG and doctoral levels.
Name of the B. Des courses- Animation film design, graphic design, product design, textile design, exhibition design, ceramic and glass design, furniture and interior design.
This Gandhinagar campus of national Institute of design is a public or government Institute which was established in the year 2014. This campus provides M. Des courses, but no B. Des or bachelor degree courses.
This Bangaluru campus of national Institute of design is a public or government Institute which was established in the year 2007 at Karnataka. NID Bangalore also provide only M. Des courses and no bachelor degree courses.
National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh also known as NID Vijaywada was established in the year 2015. It is located in Namburu, Andhra Pradesh. It has ranked 10th in design category.
NID Vijayawada provide UG courses such as B.Des Communication Design , B.Des Industrial Design and B.Des Textile and Apparel Design.
NID Bhopal also known as NID Madhya Pradesh was established in 2019. The institute is located at Acharpura, Madhya Pradesh.
The B. Des courses NID Madhya Pradesh offers, such as Communication Design, Industrial Design and Textile and Apparel Design.
NID Haryana also known as NID kurukshetra, was established in 2016 with the support of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry and GOI. It is an autonomous institute and offers Design Education and Research programmes.
The B. Des courses NID Haryana offers such as communication design, industrial design and textile and apparel design.
NID Assam located at Jorhat at Assam, established in the year 2019. It’s a Public/ government own institution.
NID Assam offers B. Des courses such as Apparel design, communication design, Industrial Design.
