ABOUT UID

UID stands for United world institute of Design established in the year 2011. This Institute is one of the premier Design Institutes among India. UID under Karnavati University offers both under graduation and post graduation courses which is B. Des and M. Des. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). UID has collaborated with several organisations such as World Design Organisation (WDO), Cumulus, IFFTI and The Association of Commonwealth Universities. 

About PG courses of UID

UID’s M. Des program is a combined with studio based practice including critical thinking and process based analysis. UID Ahmedabad campus provides 4 Post graduation or M. Des courses for the students. The M. Des course is for 2years or 4 semesters. Programs reflect in-depth understanding of studio based concepts.

Master of Design or M. Des for 2 Years is ₹ 9,00,000

Semester learning for pg course

1st semester focus on studio based learning. 
2nd semester offers specialization subjects. 
3rd semester provides super specialization internships. 
4th semester based on graduation project like research paper or dissertation. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • There is no age limit for candidates to study in UID, candidates are being selected on the basis of UID DAT score. Candidates have to match the cut off marks to get chance to study at UID. 
  • final selection of candidates will be based on the UID DAT scores and the performance in GDPI in case of B. Des and M. Des admission.
  • Candidates who are applying for bachelor’s degree course, must have done their 10+2 degree course from any recognized board with any relevant stream. 
  • Candidates applying for Masters in design, must have done graduation in any relevant subject from recognised university. 
  • To take Admission in PhD programme is based on UGC NET/ JRF/ TRF/ CSIR/ ICAR/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST/ GATE/ CAT scores and also the Candidates, who have completed master’s degree from a recognised university.
