The eligibility criteria to appear for the NATA exam is quite simple and are not something to be worried about much. You can have a quick go-through to check if you are eligible enough for NATA. You must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as your subjects in 12th in order to be able to appear for the NATA entrance exam. You must have passed the 12th level examination from a recognized board. You must score at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also at least 50% aggregate in the 12th class examination. However, for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category or PwD, there is a relaxation of 5% marks in the total aggregate of the 12th class examination. Candidates who have passed the 10+3 diploma examination with Mathematics a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible for the examination. There is no age limit to appear for the NATA exam so it’s a plus.
Smile if you found yourself eligible and don’t worry if you aren’t.
There are a lot more avenues waiting for you. Cheers!
Hi,
The eligibility Criteria of NATA B.Arch:
Candidates who have successfully passed either a 10+ 3 diploma with mathematics as a field of study or a 10+ 2 examination with physics, chemistry, and mathematics are eligible to apply for NATA.
Candidates may also provisionally appear for NATA if they are taking the 10+2 exam in the current year with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects of study or the 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics. But you have to provide the mark sheet and score the required marks for final selection.
For a given academic year, applicants to the first year of the five-year B.Arch. the degree program must meet the requirements of the CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020.
The eligibility is as follows according to Regulations 2020:
"No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50%. Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also at least 50%. marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50%. marks in aggregate."
Qualifying in NATA 2021 does not constitute a right/guarantee in favor of the candidate for admission to a B.Arch Program unless the candidate has fulfilled all the prescribed requirements as specified by respective competent admission authorities in compliance with the eligibility criteria laid down by the Council of Architecture.
*Candidates may note that no direct lateral admission is allowed at any year/semester/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification.
Hope this clears your doubts about the NATA Eligibility!
