Fashion technology is the art of the application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories. It encompasses a vast field of studies in design, concept management, design production management, quality control, planning, fabric design, printing, fashion accessory design, fashion merchandising, textile science, color mixing, marketing, and so on. Bachelors in Fashion technology is a four-year course. The syllabus of fashion technology is divided into 6 semesters.

Apart from bachelors of fashion technology,there are two advanced courses in fashion technology as well:
- M.F.Tech (Fashion Technology) M.F.Tech Syllabus includes various topics such as Fibres Introduction, Regenerated Fibres, Textile Finishing to the technology, Sustainable Fashion, etc.
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Fashion Technology (PGDFT) The course provides opportunities to students to gain live experience through industry interaction, internship and live projects to learn and better professional practices. In this course student learns about fabric types to drapes, practical pattern design & construction, creative surface design, Communication Technology for Fashion Design & merchandising, Care for clothing & textiles, project dissertation, advanced pattern making & construction details, technical fashion sketching, surface embellishments & textiles, world fashion history, etc.
Bachelor of Technology course in Fashion Technology followed by M.F.Tech and post graduate diploma in fashion technology are important and job orienting which provides many job opportunities to the candidates.
