NID Entrance Exam is held by the National Institute of Design (NID) to shortlist applicants for undergraduate and postgraduate programs provided by NID campuses and other private Design schools. Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes) are the UG and PG courses available for NID admissions, respectively.
Previously, NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Madhya Pradesh, NID Haryana, and NID Assam provided the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD), which was a UG level curriculum. However, beginning in 2020, these NID locations will also offer BDes degree programs at the undergraduate level.
You can get admission to one of seven NID campuses, which are located in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Kurukshetra, Bhopal, and Jorhat, based on their performance in the NID Entrance Exam. The four-year BDes program at NID campuses lasts four years. Candidates who have passed or will be taking their Higher Secondary (Class 12) exams in any stream (Science, Humanities, Commerce) and from any recognized board such as CBSE, IB, or ICSE are eligible to apply. However, the eligibility slightly differed if you are applying for a particular program.
You can refer to the NID site or visit the Academy of Fashion and Art for regular updates about the NID entrance exam.
