Job Description

• Co-own the Design Language System and drive it's evolution and adoption to ensure high quality of design and consistency across the product experience
• Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, researchers and other stakeholders to improve how teams design and build experiences day-to-day
• Design and document components, patterns, libraries and guidelines that enable designers and engineers to create consistent and high-quality experiences
• Create strategic frameworks and system of processes / governances for our teams to use the Design System to the fullest extent, leveraging existing patterns, and extending them when necessary

Qualification

• 4+ years of relevant Product Design experience, with a proven, solid, up-to-date technical understanding of best practices, developments, trends, limits constraints of mobile and web software development
• 1+ year(s) experience of architecting / building / implementing / documenting / maintaining Design Systems at scale
• Demonstrated experience in building close relationships with Design, Engineering, and other partners to craft innovative design languages and tooling to level up both the product as well as product building experience
• A keen eye for good design, high level of craft, strong understanding of fundamental design disciplines (typography, composition, iconography, colour, layouts, etc.), impeccable visual and interaction finesse along with meticulous attention to detail
• Thinking in Systems as opposed to one-off approaches, ability to think holistically about the bigger picture, awareness of the latest developments in Design Systems
• High Proficiency in Figma, along with technical working knowledge of Git, HTML, CSS, or any other modern front-end frameworks
• Past experience in Digital Accessibility, Inclusivity, Building Tools / Plugins, etc. is a bonus

Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner with designers and engineers to identify needs / problems to solve within the system, and to iterate on and increase both the scope and scale of the existing systems for long term support
• Be an advocate and evangelist for all things related to design systems across the organisation

Design is one of the key teams at Disney+ Hotstar. We have 3 major areas of focus - Product Design, UX Research, and Design Standards.

We are a closely-knit team of 16 people at the moment, who work across the spectrum of design from deriving insight from data, designing interfaces and prototypes, and testing with users to motion graphics and illustrations.
