Architecture Entrance Exams 2023 : NTA commences APPLICATION PROCESS FOR JEE MAINS B.Arch Paper 2. Last Date : Jan 12, 2023

Applications for the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) 2023 can be completed online until 9 p.m. on January 12 on the Website.

 

JEE-Main allows students to gain admission to courses such as B. Arch at Institutions and Universities recognized by State Governments.

The top 2.5 lakh JEE-Main candidates will be qualified to sit for the JEE-Advanced, which determines admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Candidates can take the National Testing Agency's JEE-Main exam in one of two sessions.

The First Session, for which applications are already being accepted, will take place from January 24 to 31, 2023, while the Second Session will take place from April 6 to 12, 2023. Admissions will be based on the best score of candidates who present in both sessions.

JEE-Main Question Papers will be offered in 13 languages, including English and Malayalam. Malayalam, on the other hand, is only available at exam centers in Kerala and Lakshadweep. An applicant may only submit one application for the January session. Another application for the April session might be filed later, between February 7 and March 7 next year.

 

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority / Central Seat Allocation Board will handle admissions based on JEE rank.

 

Category Reservation for JEE Main B.Arch

The following categories of applicants have been reserved: Backward Caste (non-creamy layer) - 27%; Economically Weaker Section - 10%. A 5% reservation is included in each of these categories for students with special needs.

 

JEE-Main 2023 B.Arch Paper 2 Eligibility

Students who completed their Class 12 or equivalent exams in 2021 and 2022, as well as those who will take the test in 2023, are eligible to sit for JEE-Main 2023.

Payment of fees

The exam fees must be paid online. It should be noted that the fee varies based on the applicant's preferred test center and gender. There will also be an additional 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and bank charges.

Subjects to study

Candidates applying for courses in Architecture should have studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects in class 12 if they are applying for JEE Main Paper 2A and 2B.

 

Exam pattern for JEE - Main B.Arch Paper 2A

JEE- Main comprises three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2A, and Paper 2B, and Paper 2A is for B Arch admissions.

Questions will be of the multiple choice/numerical value variety, with a correct answer worth four marks. A negative mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. No points will be deducted for questions that are not tried or are saved for review.

JEE-Main is administered in two shifts: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The hours for B Arch are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Every hour, applicants with disabilities will be offered a 20-minute grace period. Candidates who use the services of a scribe are likewise eligible for this grace period. The exam syllabus is published on the website.

 

JEE - Main B.Arch Paper 2 Exam Centers

In India and overseas, there are over 400 exam centers. They include Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Muvattupuzha, Angamaly, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Payyannur, Kasaragod, Kavaratti, Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat, Manama, Doha, Riyadh and Singapore. In their applications, candidates should list four centers in their order of priority.

 

Marks Distribution in Paper 2A

For Paper 2A, 77 of the 82 questions were answered correctly. In math, there would be 20 multiple-choice questions and 10 numerical value questions. Five of the ten questions must be answered. It is a computer test with a total of 100 points. A total of 50 multiple-choice questions will be administered to assess the candidates’ aptitude for architecture. It is a computer exam with 200 marks. In an offline test, students will encounter two questions with a total score of 100 in the drawing section. The responses should be written on paper.

 

Things to note

To get alerts from NTA, applicants can download the central government's SANDES application on their mobile devices. Apart from email and SMS, this would enable them to acquire exam information.

The confirmation page, admission card, scorecard, and other papers are also available for download through UMANG / Digilocker. These documents should be filed securely.

 

Selection Process

Candidates will be chosen for various courses based on their grades and the 'All India Ranks' produced by the NIA. Only after the April session of JEE-Main will the final rank list be disclosed.
