Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan highlighted that the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, will be used to design 'Chamba Rumal', 'Chamba Chappal', and other goods. The area is well-known for its traditional handicrafts and other products.
Devgan shared the details while presiding over a meeting of the District Skill Committee on Tuesday to assess various efforts being taken by the HP Skill Development Corporation to boost the abilities of the district's youngsters.
He pointed out the importance of boosting the economics of youth and self-help groups and offered training instructions for them. He stated that all resources available in the district should be utilised and integrated into training programmes based on the demands and problems of various vocations.
He authorised the District Rural Development Agency's Project Officer to take the required procedures to offer an online sales platform for products made by trained youth and self-help organisations via the HP Skill Development Corporation. Devgan directed the personnel in charge to create an action plan for various training sessions.
