The Footwear Design & Development Institute, often known as FDDI, is a professional training facility that provides education and preparation for people seeking employment in the footwear sector.

 

FDDI, or Footwear Design & Development Institute, is a professional training institute that has operated under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry since 1986.

 

It has 12 campuses including Noida, but not one in Kerala. They have excellent infrastructure as well as an efficient placement cell at work.

These are the main programs applicants can apply for the 2022-23 entrance:

  • 4-year BDes (Bachelor of Design): Footwear design & production/ Leather lifestyle & product design/fashion design.
  • 3-year BBI: Retail& fashion merchandise.
  • 2-year MDes: Footwear design & production.
  • 2-year MBA: Retail & Fashion Merchandise 

 

The total number of seats distributed among the 12 centers are as follows: Noida 400, Fursatganj (UP), 120, Chennai 180, Kolkata 180, Rohtak (Haryana), 120, Jodhpur, 180, Chindwada (MP), 180, Guna (MP), 60, Angaleshwar (Gujarat), 120, Patna 240, Hyderabad 340, and Chandigarh 240. 2300 total seats. 230 seats are sponsored by NRIs, foreign companies, and the industry. Not every program is accessible everywhere. Backward, economically backward, differently abled, and scheduled caste all receive 15, 7.5, 27, 10, and 3% of the total reservation, respectively.

 

Minimum Qualification for FDDI Application

Anyone who has completed a three-year engineering diploma or who has taken any topic as an elective for their plus two exam is eligible to enroll for bachelor's programs.

Although an MBA for MDes just needs a bachelor's degree in any field, you must have one in either footwear, leather goods, design, fashion, fine arts, engineering, or production technology.

Exam results must be sent in by September 30. If you want to apply for a bachelor's degree, you can't be older than 25 on July 1st, 2023. You are not limited by age for masters.

You can apply online up to April 30. There will be a Rs. 600 registration fee. It is Rs 300 for those from reserved castes and people with disabilities. You may also choose to apply until May 21st and pay a late charge of Rs 800. It will cost Rs 400 for those from reserved castes and people with disabilities.

 

FDDI National Level Selection Tests

 

On June 18, three-hour long national level selection examinations will be held in 31 locations, including Kochi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. 150 unbiased questions will be asked in the bachelor's course. There will be 175 questions for Master courses. The webpage contains information about the exam topics.

The Institute-conducted UG/PG All India Selection Test is not required for those who performed well on any national level entrance test. The percentile score will be balanced appropriately to determine the rank.

 

Those with high exam scores will be admitted through the July counseling session. The institution welcomes new members the first week of August.
