The updated CEED and UCEED curricula have been published by IIT Mumbai. The revised curriculum would be in use from 2024.
The updated curriculum for the Common Entrance Test for Design (CEED) and Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design has been made available by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) (UCEED). The new curriculum would go into force with the term beginning in 2024, per the formal announcement. The updated curriculum is available for distribution on the official websites ceed.iitb.ac.in and uceed.iitb.ac.in for applicants who wish to enroll in the course.
The UCEED and CEED have been split into two sections, A and B, in accordance with the revised syllabus. The candidates would be tested for their “open, creative and inquisitive disposition, ability to think critically, capacity to comprehend and communicate, and breadth of worldview.”
Part A of the UCEED will include questions about visualisation and spatial thinking, practical and science knowledge, observation and design awareness, and the environment and culture. Section B of UCEED, on the other hand, will require sketching and design skills. The formal notification reads:“The topics given above are exhaustive and indicative of the nature of the questions. However, the UCEED may not cover all the topics."
Part A of the CEED curriculum, on the other hand, will cover subjects spanning from art and design expertise to design techniques. Part B will cover topics such as drawing, creativity, dialogue, and issue detection.
CEED and UCEED examinations in 2024 will be divided into two parts: A and B. Part-A will require applicants to take a computer-based exam. It will be divided into three sections: numerical response type (NAT) questions, multiple select questions (MSQ), and multiple-choice questions (MCQ).
Candidates taking Part B of the CEED and UCEED 2024 examinations, on the other hand, will be required to write responses in their booklet after viewing the question presented on the computer. Meanwhile, the results for the CEED 2023 test are anticipated to be published on Tuesday, March 7 and the candidates appearing for UCEED 2023 will get the result on March 9.
