Zimplistic is a product design company inventing intelligent kitchen appliances that promote healthy eating through simplicity & automation.

Our product Rotimatic is the world’s first AI-based kitchen robot.

We take on problems that have never been solved before, like automating flatbreads/rotis that are made by hand for centuries at the click of a button.

As an industrial designer on our team, you’ll work closely with Engineering, User Experience, and Manufacturing to create and develop hardware solutions aligned with our product roadmap and strategic vision. You’ll sweat the details, solve difficult problems, and learn from a diverse set of perspectives along the way. From concept to specification, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of kitchen appliances.

Education

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Qualification

• Must be an Industrial Design or any Engineering graduate.
• Must have at least 3-5 years of Industrial Design Experience.
• An original portfolio of hardware-focused creative work that clearly demonstrates your design thinking abilities and approach to problem solving within the product development process
• Experience with managing end to end CMF and DFM processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills with a creative and compelling storytelling style
• Strong visual 2D skills via sketching, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
• Proficiency with CAD (preferably Solidworks)
• Good knowledge in key manufacturing processes (blow-molding, injection molding, etc.)
• Design leadership skills with experience on driving a design vision with commercial and technical partners
• Outstanding project management skills, ability to lead projects and handle complexity with confidence
• Who have a sense of creativity who can make household or personal appliances and other gadgets into sleek, appealing and user friendly.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implementation of all stages of industrial design and development: from early concept through production. Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop the vision for the product. Support User Research to uncover and integrate user needs into concepts and final product intent
• Develop the component architecture of approved new product concepts in conjunction with cross-functional team members.
• Specify and document an approved design's form, color specifications, materials/finishes and visual acceptance standards for Engineering and Manufacturing
• Create mockups with in house 3D printer and/or external resources
• Work with cross functional teams consisting of Electronics Engineering, Test Engineering, Marketing and Manufacturing personnel as necessary to ensure the successful transition of product designs to production
• Participate in engineering builds and pilot production reviews to ensure execution of the final industrial design as intended, or if necessary, to modify the design to suit manufacturing capabilities with minimal impact to the design intent and strategy
• Support the creation and presentation of product concepts, architectures, documentation
• Stay abreast of design trends and identify those of interest/applicability to the company
