Job Description

A landscape architect is a professional who designs outdoor spaces and creates plans for their development. They consider a range of factors when designing a landscape, including the environment, ecology, zoning laws, cultural and historical significance, and the intended use of the space. Landscape architects work on a wide range of projects, including parks, gardens, residential communities, commercial developments, and public spaces.

  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Landscaping Architect.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conducting site analysis to determine the best use of the space, including consideration of topography, climate, and natural features.
  • Developing concepts, sketches, and detailed drawings for the space, including materials and construction techniques.
  • Collaborating with other professionals such as architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the design is feasible and meets all relevant regulations.
  • Selecting plants, trees, and other vegetation to enhance the space and meet environmental and aesthetic goals.
  • Conducting environmental impact assessments and ensuring the design is in compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Preparing cost estimates and schedules for projects, ensuring they stay within budget and on schedule.
  • Supervising construction of the design, including overseeing contractors and ensuring the project is executed according to the plan.
  • Maintaining records of projects, including contracts, invoices, and design documents.
  • Presenting designs to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities for approval.
  • Staying current with the latest design trends, materials, and technologies in the field.
