Job Description
We’re looking for a UI Designer who will align with our own passion for delivering an innovative, world-class product that makes our customers successful and gives them joy along the way. The ideal candidate has an eye for beautiful, user-centered design and ability to be both a champion of your work and a student of an ever evolving design process. In this position the candidate will work closely with the Design Lead, Product Managers and Engineering to bring thoughtful designs that address business and customer needs to fruition.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, or related field
Qualification
- High degree of passion for delivering thoughtful and human-centered designs and experiences
- Expert level understanding of design research skills including user interviews, usability testing, and design thinking methodologies to accelerate iteration and development
- Ability to take ownership of the design process and work autonomously, while still engaging with Design Lead and Product Managers for feedback and collaboration
- Ability to apply common User-Centered Design practices and tools to solve tough design problems
- Strong desire and willingness to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, curiosity, collaboration, and perspective-taking skills – eagerness to understand the goals, values, and constraints of others, whether they are team members, users, or beyond
- Strong communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate design decisions
- A Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, or related field
- 3+ years of professional industry UI/UX design experience
- Proficiency in Figma is a must
- Experience with Agile methodology is a plus
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the lead UI/UX Designer to create the user experience for our core interfaces
- Embed yourself with a team of stakeholders, product managers, front- and back-end developers
- Create wire frames, low-fidelity, high-fidelity, and prototype screen designs for the development team to execute
- Consult with the Design Lead, Product Manager and development team to review design interaction and provide reviews and collaborative feedback
- Assist Product Managers in communicating design decisions to stakeholders
- Be an advocate for the customer in terms of their representation in product design and interaction
- Champion user experience and advocate for design and help build our design team culture, processes, and systems
- Apply user-centered design principles to a highly iterative and collaborative design process
- Actively familiarize yourself and gain knowledge of our product through engagement and asking thoughtful questions
- Create, iterate, present, and deliver thoughtful design solutions
