Education

  • You are academically qualified in Interaction Design, HCI or a related design field.

Qualification

  • You are academically qualified in Interaction Design, HCI or a related design field.
  • You have 1-5 years experience in user experience design or application interface development.
  • You are a black-belt in Adobe CS [Xd, Ps, Il, Id], and/or Sketch.
  • You understand HTML / CSS and know their capabilities & limitations.
  • You are up-to-date with the latest developments in User Interface design best practices.
  • You want to design useful, usable, accessible, branded and visually appealing user experiences.
  • You are comfortable working on a Mac.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in the quality of your output.
  • You can work autonomously and collaboratively to bring projects to completion.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create/Understand/Refine a creative brief before conceptualising your design solution.
  • Obtain client/market research data through customer visits, user interviews, questionnaires, analytics and other mechanisms to collect user insights.
  • Analyse user research data to identify user needs/frustrations, develop interaction models, communication systems, user personas & audience segments, storyboards, scenarios & tasks.
  • Conduct workshops with clients & users to understand business objectives & user needs.
  • Analyse competitor strategies to help clients adapt and evolve existing engagement strategies.
  • Engage with users to test prototype designs to identify usability flaws.
  • Identify UX issues and provide solid UX recommendations.
  • Visualise information architectures, create interaction models & define task flows / user journeys.
  • Create, Ideate and present design ideas & concepts through one, or more, medium depending on the project needs and maturity of the client. These could include presenting design mock-ups, storyboards, wire frames, prototypes, interaction patterns, or a product walk-through to internal/client teams for feedback and approval.
  • Understand responsive design needs and champion the implementation of responsive designs with your development team, at times, with client teams.
  • Provide a high quality visual design layer for defined wireframes keeping in mind grids and responsive design requirements/standards. At times you will need to design mobile-first.
  • Use aesthetic styles and imagery, and modern page layouts (screen schematics) and interaction flows (user paths).
  • Communicate your design/interaction needs via annotations, design guidelines and style sheets documented as part of the design process delivered to the development team as they build out your designs.
  • Proactively research & learn new, or re-emerging front-end technologies and leverage capabilities to facilitate an improved user experience.
