ABOUT FDDI entrance exam-

FDDI stands for Footwear Design & Development Institute is a design Institute which offers professional programmes in Footwear Design , Leather Goods & Accessory Design , Fashion Design , and Retail & Fashion Merchandise. FDDI have total 12 campuses all over India. 
Rather than basic eligibility criteria for B. Des, BBA, M. Des, MBA courses here, candidates have to go through FDDI entrance which is FDDI AIST (Footwear design and development Institute’s all Indian selection test). Selection procedure at FDDI is being done on the basis of FDDI AIST score. Therefore the candidates with good score and good rank will be called for counselling.

Exam pattern- 

FDDI AIST for B. Des candidates consist total 150 number of questions and obtain total 200 marks. And for M. Des candidates FDDI AIST consist total 175 number of questions and obtain total 200 marks. 

Types of questions in FDDI AIST

  • For B. Des candidates FDDI AIST generally conduct questions on such topics, which are- Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, General Awareness, General Knowledge, Visualisation, Colour and composition. This means this paper consist maths, English grammar and composition, general knowledge and current affair questions, perspective thinking and colour relation types questions. 
  • For M. Des candidates FDDI AIST generate questions on slightly different topics. Such topics are- Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension & Analytical Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Awareness, Visualisation, Colour and composition. 

So you need to keep on your regular practice. Maths, English and general knowledge is must. Most importantly, polish your drawing and creative skills regularly.

Here are some good books to prepare for FDDI AIST

  • Here are some good books for quantitative aptitude- how to prepare for Quantitative aptitude by Arun sharma,  quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning by RS Agarwal. 
  • For verbal ability- high school English grammar and composition by Wren and martin,  word power made easy by Norman Lewis. 
  • For general awareness- read news papers like The Hindu and general awareness magazines. 
  • For business aptitude and design aptitude- 9th and 12th standard commerce book of ICSE board. For management aptitude test and analytical ability- a modern approach to logical reasoning by RS Aggarwal, analytical reasoning by MK Pandey.
