JKLU offers a 4-year UG programme in Integrated Communication Design designed by industry veterans to get you prepare for tomorrow's needs.
The curriculum offered is mostly hands-on since it adheres to the 'learning by doing' philosophy. Project-based learning prepares you for a rewarding and stimulating career. The curriculum exposes students to all forms of media and related technologies, as well as work on design tasks that determine the character of numerous employment opportunities. In the information economy, the nature of communication design has altered dramatically over time. The majority of content creation is now done digitally. While the internet has given everyone the ability to create material, it has also given everyone the ability to consume content.
The curriculum prepares you to work on human-centered communication projects and learn the principles of Design Thinking in solving communication problems for the creative industries such as advertising, print, web, film and video, new media, tech start-ups, and designing for social concerns such as health and education.
Graphic design, web design, information design, information architecture, advertising and branding, way finding, social communication, and motion graphics are examples of design techniques that reflect the Institute of Design's project-based learning method.
