The Design Village Foundation (TDV) is an industry-focused, interdisciplinary design institute with offices in Noida, New Delhi, India. TDV brings together all design disciplines for meaningful interdisciplinary interactions, arranges faculty and student exchanges with other countries' institutes and organizations, and closely collaborates with the business community to keep a sharp focus on the practical relevance and application of design.
The Village serves as a physical and philosophical metaphor for the design village. The design village is an organic community where culture is recognized and rediscovery, much like a real village.
The Design Village supports the ideas of life through design and influence through design. For TDV, design not only offers innovative solutions to issues of the present, but also suggests new paths for the future. To achieve this goal, TDV offers individuals the option to not confine themselves to any one area of design in order to grow and educate them.
TDV also wants to foster and educate people by not restricting them to just one area of design. A competent designer can design anything, and students have the option of choosing not to specialize in any one field. Instead, they may be autonomous, non-silo designers who can affect and improve the world via design in whatever media they can think of.
