Hi Myra! B. Arch is a good career option I must say! 

As you know B. Arch is the bachelor’s in architecture. To be a B. Arch student or B. Archian, you need to prepare well right after 10th. Am telling you how!

So, here are 5 easy steps to become an B. Archian-

Step1. If you got your dream to become a B. Arch student before 10th, you must check the basic eligibility criteria of B. Arch course. B. Arch has several entrance exams to get into top notch colleges, but every entrance exams have a basic criteria. Without that criteria you cant sit for the exams even. 

The basic eligibility criteria are-

  • Candidates need to complete their 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics from any recognised board. 
  • Candidates can also complete their 10+3 degree from any recognised board but they need to have the subject mathematics. 

Step2. As you know there are several entrance exams for B. Arch admission so that you can study at top notch colleges. Here are 2 top entrance exams am mentioning-

  • NATA- National Aptitude Test In Architecture is a national level entrance exam conducted by council of architecture for admission to 5 years B. arch degree course at various institutions in India. There is no age eligibility criteria for NATA mentioned by CoA in particular.
  • JEE- MAIN paper2- Joint Entrance Exam – Main is an national level all India exam conducted by  NTA to take admission of the candidates who are willing to pursue architecture as well as various courses of engineering. There are also no age limit to sit for JEE- MAIN. 

Check the syllabus of the entrance you are interested to give and start your study right after 10th because every entrance ask questions from 10th to 12th syllabus. 

Step3. Choose your favourable college. Don’t forget to check the cut off. Here are top 5 colleges where you can study B. Arch.-

  • School of planning and architecture
  • National Institute of technology
  • Indian Institute of technology Kharagpur and Roorkee
  • Jadhavpur University
  • Maulana Abul kalam azad university of technology

step4. Apply for the entrance exam you are interested to give. And wait for the dates to comr, till then practice well.
Step5. Work on your drawing skills, because to study architecture having a clear sense of drawing is very important. 

You have to score more than cut off.
