How to Get Admission in an Architecture College in India?

In India Council of Architecture (CoA) has the main authority to control the admission in any architecture colleges, departments and school of architectures all over India. CoA conduct NATA which is National Aptitude test in Architecture entrance exam to get admission in Colleges all over India for Bachelors of Architecture. There are also National Testing Agency (NTA) Which conduct various national level entrance exams like JEE for admission to UG, PG, PhD courses. 

So, there are 2 entrance examination to get admission in any colleges with the course of B. Arch in national level. 

  1. NATA
  2. JEE-Main 2

JEE Main Paper 2 offers B. Arch at NITs and GFTIs, whereas NATA offers admission in colleges like SPA Delhi and CEPT University Ahmedabad. So, candidates can go through any one examinations as per their choice of the university or colleges. 

Candidates must have minimum 50% marks in their 12th examination which includes the mandatory subject physics, chemistry and mathematics from any recognized state board. Or have done any 10+3 diploma in which mathematics is compulsory. 

Admission to B.Arch in IIT

IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee offers B. Arch course. To take admission in B.Arch course in any of these two IIT’s, students must appear in JEE Advanced Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).

  • Candidates must qualify in JEE Main Paper I and JEE Advance with high rank.
  • Candidates then have to appear in Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) which is conducted by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee in the month of June. 

Also, there are many private colleges which provide state level or Institute level entrance exams to get admission with B. Arch course without giving NATA or JEE. 

These are the admission procedure in B. Arch for every students in India.
