Hi Myra! NID studio test is basically a creative part of NID DAT mains. This paper is to test the creativity level or creative ability of the candidates. So this part contains practical type of questions. Also lets see what's more in NID DAT studio test! 

About NID

NID stands for national Institute of design, which is undoubtedly the leading Institute of design in India. NID is nationally as well as internationally well acclaimed one of the finest educational and research institution which provide Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated Design courses both for under-graduates and post-graduates and doctoral levels.

NID DAT STUDIO TEST

NID organise a two stage national level Entrance examination every year for admission of students for B. Des and M. Des courses provided by NID. The entrance examination of NID is being called NID-DAT. DAT stands for design aptitude test. NID DAT has two stages of exam which are NID DAT prelims and NID DAT mains. Candidates need to qualify both of the exams in order to get admission at NID.
This NID studio test is the part of NID DAT second round or NID DAT mains. The major part of NID mains is NID Studio test. It is compulsory for candidates to perform well in NID Studio Test in order to secure a seat in the design institute. Studio test for B. Des is different from studio test for M. Des. Studio test is completely based on candidate's creativity skills.

Types of question comes in studio test

  • A doodling exercise where candidates need to complete each given frame with doodles. 
  • After a short break candidates were given two tasks which they need to perform using the materials provided. Such as making something with material which examiners have provided.
